Melbourne Chancellor's Scholarship
The Melbourne Chancellor’s Scholarship is an exciting opportunity for very high-achieving students. As a Chancellor's Scholar, you will be guaranteed a place in the graduate program of your choice at Melbourne.

Benefits of the Melbourne Chancellor’s Scholarship
Domestic students:
- HECS Student Contribution exemption for the full duration of a Commonwealth Supported Place in an undergraduate degree and a concurrent diploma
- Living allowance for the standard full-time duration of the undergraduate degree and concurrent diploma with a value of:
- $5000 per year if you completed high school in Victoria
- $10 000 per year if you completed high school outside Victoria
- Melbourne Global Scholars Award of up to $2500 for an approved period of overseas study as an Exchange or Study Abroad student
- Guaranteed Commonwealth Supported Place in one of the professional master degrees for students who meet the prerequisite course and entry requirements for the masters degree.
Students who live in rural or regional Victoria or outside Victoria are eligible for New to Melbourne Accommodation. To support your transition to Melbourne, the University will reserve a place in a residential facility close to the Parkville campus for the first year of your studies. The offer does not include the cost of the accommodation. Places are limited so apply early to avoid disappointment.
International students:
- A 50% tuition fee remission for the standard full-time duration of an undergraduate degree
- Melbourne Global Scholars Award of up to $2500 for an approved period of overseas study as an Exchange or Study Abroad student
- Guaranteed International full-fee place in one of our professional master degrees if you meet the prerequisite and entry requirements for the masters degree.
Selection criteria:
- You must complete an Australian Year 12 or the International Baccalaureate (IB) in Australia, or
- Be an Australian citizen and have completed Australian Year 12 or the IB outside Australia
- You must either enrol immediately or be granted a deferral in the year following Year 12
- Have applied for a University of Melbourne course for commencement in the year following completion of Year 12 or IB via VTAC,
- Have achieved an ATAR of:
- At least 99.90 for students with a VTAC preference for a University of Melbourne undergraduate degree
- At least 99.85 and an audition score of A+ for students with a VTAC preference for the University of Melbourne Bachelor of Music
- At least 90.00 for students of Indigenous Australian descent*
- Not have undertaken any tertiary studies (excluding extension studies completed as part of a Year 12 program); and
- Satisfy the prerequisites for your nominated course.
* The status of Indigenous Australians must be confirmed by the Murrup Barak Melbourne Institute for Indigenous Development.

Fees
All domestic undergraduate students enrol in a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP), which is subsidised by the Australian Government. Students pay a contribution amount that is determined by the Australian Government, based on the subjects undertaken. More details on fees and student contribution amounts.
Credit/Advanced standing
If you have completed post-secondary study, you may be eligible for credit/advanced standing towards your studies at the University. Find out more.
