Doctor of Philosophy - Business and Economics
For those who wish to undertake extensive research and develop expertise in this discipline. In Australia, the majority of research graduates take on professional roles in business, government and other organisations, while about one third go on to careers in academia.
Course structure:
Masters by Coursework followed by PhD
Five year doctoral programs are offered in Accounting, Finance and Decision, Risk and Financial Sciences; while four year doctoral programs are offered in Economics, Management and Marketing.
PhD by Thesis only
The Centre for Actuarial Studies offers a 3 year PhD by Thesis only.

This course is supported by the Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP). Under the RTP, domestic students are exempt from tuition fees for the normal duration of the course. This exemption is valid for up to four years for students enrolled in a doctoral program and up to two years for a research master’s degree. More details on RTP and other fees you may need to pay.
